Street Notes

In her Street Notes series, Simone Kaltenegger draws inspiration from the aftermath of vandalism in Berlin, particularly from weathered and tagged barrel ends. Adopting a methodical approach, Kaltenegger abstracts motifs discovered amidst the urban landscape onto canvas.
Exploring the interplay between contrast and harmony, she employs a diverse array of painting media including acrylic, texture paste, oil pastel crayons, charcoal, and spray cans. Occasionally, sayings can be discerned within the compositions. The application of colors involves layering and partial removal, mirroring the weathering effects.
