Berlin City Noise
The Berlin City Noise series explores the urban hustle and bustle of Berlin through a monochrome black series in which she depicts abstract everyday scenes and emotional nuances of city life. Inspired by Berlin's wintry grey skies and the city's deep connection to the color black - especially in the techno scene - her images convey a raw, atmospheric energy. Her surfaces draw directly from the city’s rough textures: crumbling façades, weathered walls, and tags partly washed down by the rain. This urban vocabulary shapes her approach. She uses water as an active tool, removing pigment, letting it run or break apart. The resulting shifts in tone and texture echo the worn, time-etched marks found throughout the city. Layers of gray fog and dynamic brushstrokes evoke movement and emotion, immersing the viewer in an animated yet introspective world. Using acrylic, spray paint, oil pastels and soft pastel, she experiments with different techniques that reflect the contrasts and complexity of the city.
